Refinery (SOR) with a refining capacity of over One Lakh Tons per annum of Speciality
Oils is a pioneer and market leader in manufacturing Poweroil Brand Transformer
Oils and commands over 50% market share in India.
SOR produces a comprehensive
range of low sulphur NAPHTHENIC and PARAFFINIC base "Poweroil" Transformer
Oils through a multistage continuous refining, clay contacting and vacuum filtration
process, resulting in severely hydrotreated low aromatic oil, free of polar compounds.
This ensures very high oxidation stability and ageing properties, guaranteeing
long product life. Selection of the right Low Viscosity Index Naphthenic base
oils also ensures excellent cooling characteristics. To maintain product leadership,
SOR has a unique tanker flushing and filling arrangement for bulk supplies, and
a high speed automatic drumming line, both of which are equipped with dry air
and nitrogen blanketing.
SOR's ISO 900-2000 accredited quality assurance
system requires 21 Quality Tests to be performed on each batch produced to determine
all physico-chemical and critical electrical properties like Breakdown Voltage,
Tan Delta and Ageing Profile of the Transformer Oil.
SOR's well equipped R&D
and Quality Control laboratories form the nucleus of its close co-operation with
leading Transformer manufacturers and OEM's like ABB, Siemens, GEC-Alstom etc.
to proactively develop new grades meeting International Standards like IEC 296
Class I-IA, II-IIA, BS148 Class I-IA, II-IIA, III-IIIA, ASTM-3487, DIN57370/VDE7370
and National Standards like IS-335 and IS-12463. Poweroil Transformer Oil is equivalent
to Shell Diala a-ax, b-bx, d-dx in terms of performance characteristics. We have
recently supplied over 3000 KL of Transformer Oil for a major ABB, Sweden HVDC
project after due certification from ABB, Sweden. SOR's exports are currently
to over 15 countries including Middle East Countries like UAE,Oman, Iran, and
Saudi Arabia, Greece, Cyprus, Malaysia, Philippines, Brazil, Nigeria, Kenya, Vietnam,
Taiwan, Indonasia, Australia, Newzealand etc.
